As a dedicated Product Development Manager you will you will join our New Business Ventures and Innovation team, working in a fast-paced startup environment, building and testing new products and capabilities, and helping chart the course for the future of USAA’s Property and Casualty business.

Supports the development of new products into target strategic markets. Provides support for product line initiatives related to product development, compliance, operational and process improvements, claims management, vendor management, product documentation, fulfillment, and/or system releases.

This position can work **remotely** in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

**What you'll do:**

+ Participates in the development of digital first products supporting the needs and risks of USAA Members.

+ Supports efforts to develop and launch new innovative product offerings as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products.

+ Advises others in the launch of new products and in the evaluation and decision to buy/build or partner.

+ Generates creative product and coverage solutions for member needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline exists.

+ Responsible for maintaining knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope (e.g. trends, results, etc.).

+ Analyzes internal and external data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and enhance competitive intelligence.

+ Conducts analysis of key data to support on-going monitoring, maintenance and underwriting of existing “new in market” products based on product performance, member needs and competitive changes in the market including but not limited to product rules, rates, and forms.

+ Develops and communicates the new product value proposition for product enhancements/features.

+ Guides Member Contact teams on how to effectively use sales guides and provides education on new products and services, including new offerings and enhancements to existing features.

+ Analyzes and evaluates new product performance metrics to recommend offering change, if necessary, prior to full launch.

+ Coordinates with relevant control partners (to include Leal, Compliance, and Risk Management) to ensure product offerings are designed and implemented in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

+ Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

**What you have:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

+ 6 years relevant experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services or relevant military experience.

+ Experience conducting research, compiling and analyzing data, and identifying trends that have supported product decisions.

+ Demonstrated experience in developing, deploying and supporting product and/or integrated suite of products.

+ Knowledge and understanding of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).

The salary range for this position is: $99,160- $189,530

**Description**

Under limited supervision, plan, organize, manage and evaluate assigned operations, including but not limited to, daily production, product quality, environmental management, safety, or maintenance. Supervise through Senior Process Controllers.

+ Establish tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures in assigned area within the business

+ Direct Supervisors and other staff in daily operations

+ Inspect daily operations and projects in progress and upon completion to ensure quality of work

+ Provide administrative and technical direction to staff; interpret policies and procedures established by regulatory agencies

+ Oversee and recommend the selection of key staff; participate in the selection of staff

+ Work with employees to correct deficiencies

+ Implement disciplinary procedures and recommend terminations

+ Investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary

+ Forecast necessary fund for staffing, materials and supplies, and capital improvement projects

+ Submit budget recommendations and justifications; monitor and control expenditures

+ Develop, plan and coordinate the work plan for assigned projects and responsibilities, which may include project management, cost estimates and program development

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ High School diploma or GED **and** seven (7) years related operational experience, **including** supervisory or management experience, **OR**

+ Bachelor's degree and three (3) years related operational experience, **including** supervisory or management experience

+ Seven (7) years working with PLC/DCSs including HMIs, loop tuning, alarm management and historians in an operating plant.

+ Two (2) years working with APC/Expert systems

+ Two (2) years working with advanced sensors

+ Ability to develop/implement/maintain the department's safety program, and alarm management program that protects all personnel and equipment

+ Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

+ Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

+ At least one project where candidate was responsible for coordinating the activities of one or more outside contractors

+ Proficiency with at least two PCS manufactures

+ Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills

+ Ability to read and modify electrical schematics, P&IDsand PFDs

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently **$98,000-$137,000.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. + Assure compliance of validated systems for GMP manufacturing facilities
