Purpose The overall purpose for the Tucson Values Teachers Educator Scholarship is to support future teachers while they are working towards their degree in education. The goal is to attract more teachers into the profession. Applicant Eligibility Southern Arizona future educator residing in Pima, Santa Cruz, or Cochise counties. Will enroll in a two-year college (with Pre-Education courses approved for a four-year institution) or four-year university in Arizona, and major in education. Relatives of TVT officers, directors, or substantial contributors are eligible for scholarships. If a member of the selection committee has a direct relation to an applicant, they will recuse themselves from the committee for that year, to ensure unbiased selections. Application Requirements Minimum 3.0 cumulative G. P. A. Enrolling in an Arizona community college or university Majoring in education Will teach in Southern Arizona for at least three years post graduation Application submitted before 12:00 PM, Friday, April 4, 2025 Renewable Requirements Scholarship awardees will receive $1000 scholarship to be used for their first-year post-secondary, and renewable for three years. The requirements to be eligible for renewal consist of: Submitting proof of enrollment Submitting grade transcripts each semester Proof of good status at the educational institution Maintaining a 3.0 cumulative G. P. A. Commitment to teaching in Southern Arizona for a minimum of three years after receiving their degree Failure to meet these requirements will result in nonrenewal of the scholarship. General Scholarship Information A scholarship is tax free (excludable from gross income) only if you are a candidate for a degree at an eligible educational institution and the scholarship is used for qualified education expenses. One is a candidate for a degree if they: Attend a primary or secondary school or are pursuing a degree at a college or university; Attend an educational institution that provides a program that is acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor's or higher degree, or offers a program of training to prepare students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation; Is authorized under federal or state law to provide such a program and is accredited by a nationally recognized accreditation agency.  An eligible educational institution is one whose primary function is the presentation of formal instruction and that normally maintains a regular faculty and curriculum and normally has a regularly enrolled body of students in attendance at the place where it regularly carries on its educational activities. For purposes of tax-free scholarships, qualified education expenses are expenses for: Tuition and fees required to enroll at or attend an eligible educational institution; Course-related expenses, such as fees, books, supplies, and equipment that are required for the courses at the eligible educational institution. These items must be required of all students in your course of instruction.

If the law interests you, become a Teen Attorney with Pima County Teen Court! Training is open to all high school students and ends with the Teen Court Bar Exam, entrance into the Teen Court Bar Association and certification to practice as a Prosecutor or Defense Attorney at all Teen Court hearings. There are many camps to choose from and locations vary. Scholarships available. Hosted at Arizona State University, the Logic, Leadership, and Life Skills summer camp for teens can complete licensed professional development training. They use college-level curriculum and turn it into a fun and interactive 4-day youth camp. Students will set new goals, learn leadership skills, and get individualized attention from certified teen life coaches.

University of Arizona Eller College of Management Dhaliwal-Reidy School of Accountancy has teamed up with EY, an international public accounting firm, to provide students who are under-represented in college business classes with an opportunity to explore business careers, learn about UA, and become involved in the Eller community. The Business Careers Awareness Program (BCAP) participants will be ready to launch into college with confidence and connections. Participants will take courses in accounting, marketing, ethics, and business communications. This is a one week residential program June 1st - 6th, 2025 and is available to current High School Juniors. Costs are covered by EY. Application deadline is Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Camps for Culinary Exploration: Passport to Flavor vary June 2-4, 9-11, 16-18, 23-25 Ages 11-18. Join this hands-on culinary camp and explore global flavors! Young chefs will cook dishes like Spam fried rice, homemade tortillas, and ravioli while building skills in teamwork and creativity. Safe knife use and culinary techniques will be taught—perfect for aspiring food enthusiasts!

June 2-5. For ages 12-18. Explore the San Pedro River’s ecosystem in this hands-on course! Collect and identify aquatic insects, analyze ecological data, and assess river health through invertebrate composition. This camp includes a field trip for insect collection—perfect for budding scientists!

At Camp Cronkite, high school students from across the country grow their media skills—and get a taste of college life! Campers leave with real media skills and work to bolster (or kickstart!) their professional portfolios. Students immerse in a variety of topics and skills across journalism and mass communication including writing, broadcast reporting, audio, video and other hands-on media techniques. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience! Review details on our two camp sessions below. Students attend core sessions on writing, interviewing, visual storytelling and personal branding, and choose their own Camp Cronkite adventure by selecting elective sessions from topics such as producing, videography, podcasting, weather, social media and more. Choose between two 2025 sessions (campers may select only one): Session 1: Sports Media Aspiring sports media pros win at Camp Cronkite, where campers learn sports photography, try out play-by-play coverage and attend live sporting events—including a Diamondbacks game! June 9-12 for ages 11-18. Discover the art of hand-built ceramics in this hands-on summer camp! Campers will explore clay techniques, create unique projects, and finish them with vibrant glazes before firing in the college kilns.

June 9-12 for ages 13-18. Explore genetics and AI in this hands-on summer camp! Extract DNA, analyze genes with PCR, use AI for species identification, and take a field trip to the San Pedro River for birdwatching and data collection.

June 9-12 for ages 11-14. Learn to play classical guitar in a fun and supportive camp! Perfect for beginners and those with some experience, you'll develop technique, read music, and explore pieces by Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach—guitars available on a limited basis.

A $1,500 award is available to students who are enrolled in, or are applying to an accredited undergraduate, graduate or vocational/trade school with a degree program in Arizona. Recipients must be attending an Arizona college, university or vocational school in the upcoming (25-26) academic year. Priority will be given to residents of Southern Arizona, in particular the greater Oro Valley area, including but not limited to Oro Valley, Marana, Oracle, San Manuel, unincorporated Pima County and Tucson. June 17-July19th The Tuba City Regional Health Care Corp High School Exploration Program (TCRHCC-HSEP) is a summer program aimed to expose students to careers in the health care field through clinical shadowing at Tuba City Regional Health Care in Tuba City AZ. It’s a 4-week program running from June-July in which students participate in shadowing and mentorship at Tuba City Regional Health Care, as well as a residential camp experience at Northern Arizona University. At camp, they are exposed to health career undergraduate programs and financial aid, conducting scholarly research and delivering presentations, First Aid/BLS certification, and team building through a variety of activities.
