    **Description**

    Skilled worker in the electrical/instrumentation field whose duties include, but are not limited to the removal, repair and installation of electrical components and basic to intermediate troubleshooting.

    + Perform safe completion of routine and non-routine repairs and construction

    + Perform preventive maintenance, installation and repair of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (i.e. substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems and components, process controls, instrumentation and pneumatic equipment)

    Performs skilled technical work in the maintenance, repair, replacement and installation on electrical distribution systems and associated equipment.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    + Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand and power tools

    + Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem

    + Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

    + Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with code

    + Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous

    + Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devises such as ohmmeters, voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system

    + Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes

    + Train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures

    + Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes

    + Use a variety of tools and equipment such as measuring devices, power tools, testing equipment ammeters and test lamps

    + Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors

    + Order materials and maintain inventory

    + Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring

    + Place conduit inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes

    Supportive Functions and Responsibilities

    + Work with accounting department to resolve any problem associated with purchase order/receiving tickets

    Qualifications

    Required:

    + Excellent customer service skills

    + Ability to interact professionally with customers

    + Comfortable with Windows-based software

    + Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow employees

    + Complies with required safety regulations and procedures

    + Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules

    Preferred:

    + Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
