**The UH-60** **Aircraft Mechanic AM-I (UH-60 Mechanic Specialty)** troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.

+ Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two (2) years on the assigned **UH-60 Blackhawk** Mission Design Series (MDS) is Required.

+ All experience must be within the six (6) most recent years.

+ A valid up-to-date A&P license is preferred but not required.

+ Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.

+ Reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

+ Performs 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, examines reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, such as sticking or burnt valves, inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments. Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction.

+ Work involves: replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.

+ Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.

+ Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, may specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and may specialize in engine repair.

+ Perform other duties as requested.

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

+ Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two (2) years on the assigned **UH-60 Blackhawk** Mission Design Series (MDS) is Required.

+ All experience must be within the six (6) most recent years.

+ A valid up-to-date A&P license is preferred but not required.

+ All mechanics assigned to perform maintenance on FAA certified aircraft must meet FAA requirements.

+ Mechanics must provide own tools/toolbox. Tools must be shadowed in the toolbox and tools etched with PID.

+ A valid Driver’s License is required.

+ Knowledge of equipment related to individual requirements (UH-60).

+ Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams and schematics is mandatory.

**Clearance Requirements:**

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a NAC-I (T1) Public Trust Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. **US Citizenship is require** d for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.

**Physical/Preferred Requirements:**

+ Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications is a plus.

+ Is required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable position.

+ Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds.

+ Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.

+ Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices.

+ Work is performed in a Maintenance Hangar environment that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

The CBP Aircraft Mechanic performs maintenance, overhaul, repair, inspection, and aircraft servicing functions on assigned aircraft within an aircraft maintenance and operations environment and in accordance with applicable instructions.

Principal Accountabilities:

**Job Description**

**BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY**

+ Performs removal/installation, cleaning, inspection, repair and replacement of Airframe and Power Plant systems components and accessories. All work is performed in accordance with applicable manufacturer maintenance manuals, customer, company directives and other approved data. May be requested to perform Leadman duties when designated and authorized. May be required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**

+ Perform aircraft engine/component troubleshooting using customer/OEM instructions.

+ Use engine test equipment as provided by the customer to troubleshoot and analyze engine operation in the aircraft.

+ Become aircraft ground run certified as directed by management.

**QUALIFICATION STANDARDS**

+ Aircraft mechanics shall have three years experience, in their specific aircraft maintenance occupational field. The last two years must have been as a practicing licensed FAA airframe and power plants mechanic; in the military (E-5 or above); civil service (WG-7-10), or with a government aviation maintenance Contractor.

+ Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.

+ Personnel shall be qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned, i.e., “O” or “I” level.

+ The mechanic will be capable of cross-training into or assisting other specialties as directed by management. All mechanics will be Plane Captain certified IAW a Government approved certification program for each TMS of aircraft.

+ Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance. NOTE: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

**What You Will Be Doing:**

We are in search of a skilled Aircraft Crew Chief Mechanic to join our team\. Job requirements and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

\- Performs Maintenance, Repair, Launch, and Recovery activities on Partner and Foreign Military Sales F\-35 aircraft\.

\- Ensures aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight\.
