Machinist
• Detailed understanding of CNC machine operation including knowledge of all control keys and functions on either Lathe or Mill
• Ability to calculate appropriate speed and feed combinations for various tools and materials as needed
• Complete knowledge of common Lathe or Mill G&M Code
• Ability to accurately make tool and work offsets
• Proficient in use of common shop measuring tool to validate first article and production runs to identify/prevent non-conformance
• Ability to identify and replace broken/worn tooling
• Able to read and write basic G&M code programs for either Lathe or Mill
• Able to trouble shoot basic G&M Code programs
• Understanding of how CAM system operates
• Ability to work with Programming Engineer to improve manufacturing efficiency
• Successfully set up production runs and receive first article acceptance on either Lathe or Mill
