Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill an Internship position in Water Conservation.

The Water Resources Intern will report to the Water Resources & Conservation Coordinator. This position supports the Water Conservation office in a variety of different programs and initiatives. In this position you will learn how to provide assistance and practical solutions to help different stakeholders conserve water through water efficiency programs and water conservation outreach. The Intern will support water efficiency efforts by analyzing and mapping landscapes to match them with efficient watering budgets. The Intern may help the Team analyze data on water conservation programs to track water savings. This position will also have the opportunity to participate in on-site field audits that help customers assess water efficiency across homes, buildings, and landscapes. Additionally, the Intern will help facilitate water conservation education through things such as: participating in elementary grade educational presentations and events, organizing marketing materials, and assisting with the creation of new educational content.

This is a limited-term internship that will end on 6/30/2025.

+ 1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in Water Conservation, Environmental Science, or similar area of study.

+ Currently enrolled in an accredited college working towards Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Sustainability or similar. If you have completed your degree, you may still apply.

+ Junior/Senior level college students preferred, but Freshman/Sophomores also encouraged to apply.

+ 2 years of experience working in a professional setting.

+ 1 year of experience working with the public in customer service, community outreach or similar work.

+ Must have experience and comfortability with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

+ Must be comfortable with public-speaking and providing educational presentations and outreach.

+ Must be comfortable performing field work, both indoors and outdoors.

+ Knowledge of local water resources and desert plants is a plus.

+ Google Earth Pro experience preferred but not required.

+ Valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
