Reports To: Financial Controller

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for oversight of all accounting, compliances, and reporting activities, and will be supporting the finance team in the preparation of presentations to the Board of Directors, senior leadership team, finance and non-finance partners.

The Assistant Controller will lead all day-to-day accounting operations and supervise the accounting team from our Phoenix office (hybrid role). Functional responsibilities include month-end accounting, profit and loss account review, accounts receivable, payroll, annual audit, sales tax, and other regulatory and compliances. The Controller will ensure that FTR has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits. The Assistant Controller will work closely with organizational leaders and their staff, not only to educate them regarding accounting procedures, but also to explore how the accounting function can support day-to-day operations. Accounting and Team Leadership


* Lead the day-to-day monthly financial statement close process, driving progress during the close to ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly financial results.
* Evaluate processes and implement more efficient practices and procedures to reduce monthly close to 5 working days by end of next financial year.
* Oversee all GL accounts ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure consistent coding of transactions to general ledger account segments (revenue and expenditure).
* Maintain internal control and safeguards for SaaS software receipt of revenue, cost of revenue, and operating expenditures.
* Maintain deferred revenue schedule and ensure complete with customer contracts.
* Lead day to day relationships with the auditor for the planning, coordination and conduct of their annual audit and other services. Oversee external audit process to facilitate completion of audit procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
* Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting and compliances; accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, sales tax, and month-end accounting.
* Ensure accounting policies and procedures conform to US GAAP accounting standards. Ability to roll out policies and procedures and ensure consistency of applications across FTR.
* Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.

* A mature leader with strong accounting experiences, preferably with 3 to 5 years of mix of software and hardware industry background, which include Public Accounting/Audit experiences.
* Minimum of a BA; CPA (Active/Inactive) strongly preferred.
* Solid knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
* Ideally experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power Query, Microsoft Power BI.
* Technology savvy with experience developing ERP system.
* Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to FTR’s mission.
* Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to roll up sleeves and delegate accordingly.
* Keen analytic, organization, and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners.
* Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
* Preferable experience in transfer pricing and international taxations.

Salary range: $125-135k
