Assist adults with disabilities (clients) with daily living activities in residential care facility. Provide a safe, healthy, and productive daily living environment. Work to increase quality of life, personal growth and choice making through positive role modeling, professionalism, respect, and understanding of the client’s needs and cultural background. Duties performed include supervised activities, support and guidance in daily living activities.

Essential Job Functions
• Provide clients with support and instruction in areas such as self-care, healthy life choices, independent living, social skills, and adapting to their disability as necessary.
• Perform housekeeping duties, such as cooking, cleaning, washing clothes and dishes, yard work, minor repairs, errands and community activites.
• Work with and assist clients on tasks such as household cleanliness, hygiene, health, and nutrition.
• Preforming personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, toileting, changing of adult diapers, feeding and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.
• Care for clients providing various types of hands-on teaching, coaching, mentoring and instruction in day-to-day life skills opportunities, providing companionship, personal care and assisitance in adjusting to existing and new lifestyles.
• Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals according to prescribed diets, or assist client in planning, shopping for, and preparing nutritious meals.
• Provide assistance to clients with moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs or automobiles, and with dressing and grooming.
