About the EMR Program Administrator:
The EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Program Administrator is responsible for ensuring the continuity of Donor Network of Arizona’s access to hospital EMR systems. This position ensures that the organization’s use of hospital EMR systems is effectively supported through training and administration. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with department leaders, creating effective and efficient EMR user onboarding processes, and working in collaboration with each hospital system’s EMR points of contact. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing coordination and support for the governance structure of DNA’s internal medical record management system.

Job Duties:
EMR Administration
Coordinates with other data intelligence staff on the approval process for access to hospital EMR systems and the gathering of pertinent DNA employee data related to access (includes username, methods of changing username, etc…).
Establishes, or partners with DNA delegates, relationships with primary EMR contacts at each hospital / system and maintains open communication.
Ensures, in conjunction with department directors and the Data Intelligence delegates, that DNA personnel are appropriately trained in EMR systems.
Partners with the Data Intelligence Supervisor to engage and maintain open dialogue with each department’s leadership team to review employee EMR activities, ticketing trends, and onboarding forecasting.
Facilitates communication with each hospital system with new hires, terminations, and resignations within a timely manner.
Maintains EMR database and reporting mechanisms on a daily basis.
Stays informed of updates and changes to access within systems and communicates these updates and changes to appropriate personnel.
Keeps informed of industry best practices in EMR technology, regulations and resources.
Maintains a center point for EMR-related information, including guides, access-related information, and EMR system status.
Prepares EMR information, updates, and training for applicable department meetings on a routine basis.
Coordinates with DNA’s IT department to ensure our system meets the requirements to effectively work with hospital systems.
Works in partnership with Medical Records Program Administrator when support is needed for high level EMR functions.
Troubleshoots challenges regarding access to EMR.

iTransplant Utilization Program
Attends all iTransplant Utilization Committee meetings and provides input as an active member.
Manages all ongoing projects and communications as identified through the iTransplant Utilization Committee as directed by the committee chair/organizational liaison.
Provides administration to committee meetings, active action items and tasks, open change requests, and iTransplant releases.

Training
With support from organizational trainers, conducts training on EMR access, account retention, and the importance of confidentiality and security.
Maintains current knowledge of EMR/EDR industry and best practices.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job experience

Minimum Experience
2 years of experience in electronic medical record assessment or coordination
2 years of intermediate level computer experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/Access/Outlook or equivalent
Experienced knowledge of Healthcare, HIPPA, and/or Medical Terminology

Preferred Education
Bachelor’s Degree or higher with emphasis on life sciences, pathology coursework or LPN, RN, EMT-P, or other health care certification

Preferred Experience
4 years of experience in electronic medical record assessment or coordination
2 years of OPO development or clinical experience or certification in the fields of organ, tissue, or ocular banking
Knowledge of statistical analysis
