We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Economic Development Administrator to lead and support the community’s economic growth and prosperity. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of economic trends, regional development needs, and policies that can drive positive change within the community. As an Economic Development Administrator, you will consult with local government officials, businesses, community organizations, and developers to foster economic opportunities, attract high-wage jobs, and ensure sustainable economic investment and job creation. The Economic Administrator will oversee the implementation of the Town's recently adopted Economic Road Map.
In this position you will:
• Manages and coordinates the planning and implementation of the Economic Road Map, including business attraction, retention, job creation, business assistance, marketing and related functions
• Identify and promote sites for retail, commercial and industrial expansion throughout the Town of Prescott Valley.
• Markets the Town through various contacts and resources; call on and respond to requests from businesses and site selection consultants, including the Arizona Commerce Authority; maintain confidentiality on-site prospects.
• Develop and administer a program of researching, collecting and furnishing information and materials on the Town’s location factors to prospective business firms and companies.
• Maintain strong working relationships with local and regional Chamber of Commerce organizations and other similar groups that promote economic development.
• Initiate, develop and maintain programs to encourage business and industry to locate and retain their location in the Town; work with owners and staff of existing businesses to determine ways of supporting current businesses.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, industry clusters, and business opportunities for targeted sectors.
• Provide guidance and support to entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses in accessing resources, funding, and business development programs.
• Develop and manage economic development projects, including feasibility studies, needs assessments, and business retention and expansion programs.
• Stay updated on local, regional, and national economic development trends, policies, and best practices to inform decision-making and strategy development.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of economic development programs and initiatives and make recommendations for improvements or changes as needed.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in economics, marketing, business administration or related field and a minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible economic development experience.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License and ability to pass a pre-employment background check including driving record.
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and processes involved in economic development.
• Knowledge of community dynamics including intergovernmental relations, civic organizations, and special interest groups.
