**Responsibilities**

**About This Position**

In accordance with Marian Medical Center’s healthcare philosophy, registered nurses manage the quality of patient care using the nursing process. They work with healthcare teams to coordinate plans of care. They will lead unit staff to prepare them for their responsibilities. Nurses are responsible for completing unit competency assessments, annual safety reviews, CPR certification, and renewing licenses by maintaining required continuing education units. In addition to these responsibilities, registered nurses may be assigned additional duties.

Registered nurses work well in teams to deliver patient care. They demonstrate expertise in basic nursing skills, as well as specialty skills. They also understand the nursing process and its appropriate applications. They are caring and compassionate with patients and coworkers, and can prioritize their work efficiently. They can communicate effectively and professionally, orally and in writing, and are active, objective listeners. Nurses are willing and able to participate in process improvement activities. They have excellent interpersonal skills and are able to collaborate with others across departments. Nurses maintain composure during emergencies and react quickly and efficiently. They are able to lead and collaborate with their healthcare teams. They are able to get things done with others, using their problem-solving and conflict-management skills as well as their creativity.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years of experience at a Community or Regional Level Newborn ICU work experience. Other candidates to be considered on an individual basis and attributes.

+ Minimum requirement: Associates degree and other speciality specific training.

+ Current California Registered Nurse license.

+ Current approved health care provider CPR certification - BLS within 30 days of hire date.

+ Current NRP certification - within 30 days of hire date.

+ Has education, training and demonstrated competency in neonatal critical care.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Greater than 5 years of experience.

+ BSN or Masters Degree.

+ NICU certification.

+ LACTOCON certification.

+ STABLE and transfport certification.

+ Demonstrates experience with advanced skill practice in the placement of Umbilical line, PICC lines and needle thoracentesis and intubation.

$48.43 - $72.26 /hour
